Clement Anthony Dortie (born in July 1963) is a British television personality. He was a popular presenter for the famous music show Top of the Pops. Tony also owns his own company, Triple T Entertainment, which creates TV programs. He has hosted shows for many different networks, including the BBC, Music Box, ITV, and MTV.

Tony Dortie's Early Life and TV Start

Tony Dortie was born in London, England. He spent his childhood growing up in Lewes, a town in Sussex.

While still at school, Tony began his career in broadcasting. He started by contributing to the TV channel Music Box. Later, he moved on to work for Children's BBC on the show UP2U. On October 3, 1991, Tony joined Mark Franklin. Together, they became regular hosts for the new version of Top of the Pops. He continued in this role until 1994.

Tony Dortie also created his own production company. It was called Djem Productions Ltd.

Creating Exciting TV Shows

Tony Dortie had his first big success by creating and writing TV show ideas. One of his shows was called TXTC. This show first aired in Thailand. After that, it was shown in many other countries across Asia.

In 2004, TXTC was even nominated for an Asian TV Award. It was recognized as one of the best game shows. Tony then wrote another show called Chain Reaction. This program was shown on Fox8 in Australia. It was hosted by Mieke Buchan.

His talent for writing TV shows caught the eye of big companies. These included Fremantle Media and then 2waytraffic. He continued to have success with his show TXTC.

Hosting Events and Creating More TV

Tony Dortie also became a master of ceremonies, known as an MC. He regularly hosted Saturday night events at "Cirque at the Hippodrome." He also toured internationally as an MC.

With his new company, Triple T Entertainment (often called TTT), Tony continued to create TV shows. He wrote and developed a show called Million Dollar Babes for ITV2. This show explored the lives of young women making their way in the world.
