Tony Singletary began his career in 1977. He started as a stage manager for TV shows. A stage manager makes sure actors are in place. They also ensure props are ready for each scene. His first job was on the sitcom What's Happening!!. He then worked on other popular shows. These included Good Times and The Jeffersons.
Directing Many Shows
Tony Singletary became a director for the first time on the series Busting Loose. This show starred Adam Arkin. Throughout his career, he directed many well-known television series. Some of these shows were The Cosby Show and Charles in Charge. He also directed episodes of One Day at a Time and Who's the Boss. Other shows he directed include Diff'rent Strokes, Silver Spoons, and Gimme a Break!. He also worked on Martin, Married... with Children, and 227.
Later Work
In 1998, Tony Singletary directed his first and only movie. It was called High Freakquency. The film starred John Witherspoon. The last television series he directed was the Nickelodeon sitcom Just Jordan. He stopped working in television in 2007.
