The Tornier's frog (Litoria tornieri) is a type of frog that lives in northern Australia. People also call it the Tornier's Australian tree frog or the black-shinned rocket frog. You can find this frog in Western Australia, the Northern Territory, and Queensland.

Where Tornier's Frogs Live

Tornier's frogs are very good at living in many different places. They especially like areas with water that might dry up sometimes. This includes places like temporary ponds or puddles.

Habitat and Environment

These frogs are often found near water sources. They can live in forests, grasslands, and even rocky areas. Their ability to adapt helps them survive in many parts of northern Australia.

Life Cycle and Reproduction

Tornier's frogs have an interesting way of growing up. They lay their eggs right on the surface of the water. This means the eggs float on top.

From Tadpole to Frog

Once the eggs hatch, tiny tadpoles appear. These tadpoles swim and grow in the water. It takes about 6 to 7 weeks for a tadpole to change into a full-grown frog. This process is called metamorphosis.
