The Toronto Ribfest is a popular yearly festival that takes place in Centennial Park in Etobicoke, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It happens every year around the Canada Day long weekend. This festival is famous for its delicious ribs and lots of fun activities for everyone!
What is Toronto Ribfest?
The Toronto Ribfest is organized by the Etobicoke Rotary Club. This club is a group of volunteers who work to help their community. The festival is a non-profit event, which means it doesn't aim to make money for itself. Instead, all the money raised goes to help different charities.
Fun at the Festival
Each year, the festival brings together many rib vendors. These vendors travel from all over North America to share their amazing rib recipes. Besides the tasty food, you can also enjoy live music performances. There are also many activities especially for kids and families, making it a great day out for everyone.
History of Toronto Ribfest
The very first Toronto Ribfest happened in 1999. It quickly became a favorite summer event for people in Toronto and beyond.
Recent Changes
In 2020 and 2021, things were a bit different because of the COVID-19 pandemic in Toronto. To keep everyone safe, the festival became a "drive-thru" event. This meant people could still get their favorite ribs from their cars, even though they couldn't gather in the park.
