Torotoro, also known as Toro Toro, is a small town in Bolivia. It is located in the Potosí Department, within the Charcas Province.
About Torotoro
Torotoro was started a long time ago. It was founded by people called mestizos who moved from Cochabamba. The town officially became a municipality, which is like a local government area, on November 21, 1883. In 2001, the municipality had a population of 10,535 people.
Where is Torotoro?
Torotoro sits high up in the mountains, at an altitude of 2,676 meters (about 8,780 feet). It can be a bit tricky to get there! The only way to reach the town is by road. This road starts from Estancia Sucusuma, near the Río Caine.
A Special Park
The town of Torotoro is right in the middle of a very special place: the Torotoro National Park. This park is famous for its amazing natural beauty and unique features. Torotoro is about 140 kilometers (87 miles) south of the city of Cochabamba.
