Toru Araiba (新井場 徹, Araiba Tōru, born July 12, 1979) is a former Japanese football player. He was a skilled defender who played for several top clubs in Japan. These clubs included Gamba Osaka, Kashima Antlers, and Cerezo Osaka. Araiba is well-known for his time with Kashima Antlers, where he helped the team win many important championships.

Playing for Clubs
Toru Araiba started his football journey in the youth system of Gamba Osaka. He was so talented that he played two games for their main team in 1997. This happened even though he was still part of their youth squad.
Early Career at Gamba Osaka
In 1998, Araiba signed a professional contract with Gamba Osaka. He quickly became a regular player for the club. During his time there, he mostly played as a left midfielder. He stayed with Gamba Osaka until the end of the 2003 season.
Success with Kashima Antlers
In 2004, Araiba moved to Kashima Antlers. Here, he took on a new role as a left side-back. This position was previously held by the famous player Naoki Soma. Araiba's move to Kashima Antlers marked a very successful period in his career.
The club achieved amazing success during his time there. They won the J1 League (Japan's top football league) three years in a row. These victories happened in 2007, 2008, and 2009.
Kashima Antlers also won other major trophies with Araiba. They lifted the Emperor's Cup in 2007 and 2010. They also won the J.League Cup in 2011 and 2012.
Later Years and Retirement
After many successful years with Kashima Antlers, Araiba moved to Cerezo Osaka in 2013. This was a move to a club in his home area of Osaka. He played for Cerezo Osaka for two seasons. Toru Araiba decided to retire from professional football at the end of the 2014 season.
Playing for Japan's National Team
Toru Araiba also had the chance to represent his country. In August 1995, he was chosen to play for the Japan U-17 national team.
He played in the 1995 U-17 World Championship. This is a big international tournament for young players. Araiba played in all three matches for Japan during that championship.
