Toshihiko Okimune (沖宗 敏彦, Okimune Toshihiko, born September 7, 1959) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a defender. Okimune was also a member of the Japan national team.
Playing for Clubs
Toshihiko Okimune was born in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan, on September 7, 1959. After he finished high school, he started his professional football career. In 1978, he joined a team called Kawasaki Frontale. This team played in the top division of the Japan Soccer League.
However, in his very first season, his club faced a challenge. They were moved down to Division 2. This means they had to play in a lower league the next year.
Playing for Japan
Okimune also played for his country. In August 1979, he was chosen to play for the Japan U-20 national team. This team played in a big tournament called the 1979 World Youth Championship. He played in 3 games during this championship.
Later, on August 30, 1981, Toshihiko Okimune played his first game for the main Japan national team. This first game was against the Malaysia team. In total, he played 2 games for the Japan national team in 1981.
