Toshihiro Yamaguchi (山口 敏弘, Yamaguchi Toshihiro, born November 19, 1971) is a former Japanese football player. He was born in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. Yamaguchi played as a midfielder and forward during his career. He also represented the Japan national team.

Playing for Clubs

Toshihiro Yamaguchi started his professional football journey in 1993. He joined Gamba Osaka after leaving Kindai University. By 1994, he had become a regular player for the team. He played many games and scored goals for Gamba Osaka.

In 1996, Yamaguchi moved to another team called Kyoto Purple Sanga. He played there for about two years. Later, in June 1998, he joined Sanfrecce Hiroshima. With Sanfrecce Hiroshima, his team reached the final of the 1999 Emperor's Cup, which is a big football tournament in Japan. They finished as runner-up that year. Toshihiro Yamaguchi decided to retire from playing football at the end of the 2000 season.

Playing for Japan

Toshihiro Yamaguchi also had the chance to play for his country. He made his first appearance for the Japan national team on July 8, 1994. This match was against the Ghana team.

He also took part in the 1995 King Fahd Cup. This tournament is now known as the FIFA Confederations Cup. Yamaguchi played a total of 4 games for Japan between 1994 and 1995.
