Toshiya Ishii (石井 俊也, Ishii Toshiya, born January 19, 1978) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a Midfielder for many years.

His Football Journey
Toshiya Ishii was born in Fujieda, Shizuoka on January 19, 1978. After finishing high school, he joined the J1 League club Urawa Reds in 1996.
Playing for Urawa Reds
By 1998, Ishii became a regular player. He was a strong defensive midfielder. He played many matches for the team. However, his playing time became less in 2002.
Moving to New Teams
In 2003, he moved to Vegalta Sendai. He played regularly there in 2003. But in 2004, he did not play as much.
In 2005, Ishii joined Kyoto Purple Sanga. This team later changed its name to Kyoto Sanga FC. He did not play many matches until late 2006. After that, he became a regular player again. In 2008, the club got many new players. This meant Ishii had very few chances to play.
Later Career
In 2009, he moved to Roasso Kumamoto. He played regularly for this team. But at the end of 2009, the club decided to bring in younger players. So, Ishii left the team.
In 2010, he joined his local club, Fujieda MYFC. This team was in the Japanese Regional Leagues at the time. He played regularly there. His team was promoted to the Japan Football League in 2012. Toshiya Ishii retired from playing football at the end of the 2013 season.
