The Tour de la Bourse (which means Stock Exchange Tower in English) is a very tall building, called a skyscraper, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It has 48 floors! You can find it where Victoria Square and Saint Jacques Street meet, in an area known as the International Quarter. This building is also connected to Montreal's amazing underground city and the Square-Victoria-OACI Metro Station. This makes it easy for people to get around, even in bad weather!
When the Tour de la Bourse was finished in 1964, it was the tallest building in all of Canada. It held this record for a few years until a new building in Toronto became taller in 1967. Today, it is the third tallest building in Montreal and one of the tallest in Canada. The building was designed by famous architects Luigi Moretti and Pier Luigi Nervi. Its design is known as the International Style, which means it has a clean, simple look with lots of glass and steel.
Cool Facts About the Tower
Art and Events at the Tower
The Tour de la Bourse has been part of some interesting events. In March 2010, an artist named Aude Moreau used the building for her art project called Sortir. She turned the lights in the top floors of the tower on and off to spell out the word "Sortir" (which means "To Exit" in French) across the building's sides. It was a really cool way to use the building as a giant canvas!
