Tracy Allard (born in 1971) is a Canadian politician. She was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 2019 to 2023. She represented the area of Grande Prairie. Tracy Allard is part of the United Conservative Party (UCP). She also served as the Minister of Municipal Affairs for a short time.
About Tracy Allard
Early Life and Education
Tracy Allard went to the University of British Columbia. There, she earned a degree called a Bachelor of Commerce. She also got a special certificate in disability management. This helps people with disabilities.
Tracy Allard and her husband, Serge, own and run two Tim Hortons restaurants. These popular coffee and donut shops are located in Grande Prairie, Alberta.
Starting in Politics
Tracy Allard decided to get involved in politics. She was chosen to be the candidate for the United Conservative Party in the Grande Prairie area.
In the 2019 Alberta general election, she won the election for her area. Her party, the UCP, also won enough seats to form the government. This means they were in charge of the province.
Important Roles and Work
In November 2019, Tracy Allard was given an important job. She became the chairwoman of the Northern Alberta Development Council. This group helps with development in northern Alberta.
In March 2020, she joined a special group. This group was called the Joint Working Group on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. Their job was to work on ideas and plans for Alberta. These plans would help address the issue of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls.
On August 25, 2020, Tracy Allard received a big promotion. She was named the Minister of Municipal Affairs. This role means she was in charge of things related to cities and towns in Alberta. The previous minister, Kaycee Madu, became the Minister of Justice.
