Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar is a super fun spot located at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, California. It opened in May 2011. This unique place is inspired by classic Disney attractions like the Enchanted Tiki Room and Jungle Cruise. It's known for its amazing special effects that happen right inside the bar!
Magical Surprises Inside
Trader Sam's is famous for its cool, interactive environment. When certain special drinks are ordered, the whole room comes alive! Imagine tiki carvings with eyes that move, a tiny shipwreck in a bottle that really sinks, and even volcanoes that erupt. The staff also joins in the fun, making every visit an adventure.
Here are some of the exciting things that happen:
- Shipwreck on the Rocks: If you order this special drink, watch out! The ship inside a bottle above the bar will start to rock and sink, just like it's caught in a storm.
- Krakatoa Punch: When this drink is served, the calm view outside a pretend window changes. A storm gathers, and a volcano begins to erupt with smoke and rumbling sounds!
- Shrunken Zombie Head: Get ready for a surprise! Some of the bar stools might slowly sink towards the floor. The bartenders can also make this happen just for fun!
- Uh Oa!: When someone orders this, a bell rings, and everyone starts chanting, "Uh OA! Uh OA! Uh OA OA OA!" Then, water sprays into the air, making it feel like it's raining inside!
- Draft Beer: Even ordering a draft beer is special here. The beer taps are carved tiki heads with glowing eyes. When a bartender pulls a tap, you'll hear tiki drums and chants. The more beers pulled, the faster the music plays!
More Tiki Adventures
Trader Sam's was so popular that a second Disney Tiki Bar opened in 2015. It's called Trader Sam's Grog Grotto and is located at Disney's Polynesian Resort in Walt Disney World in Florida.
While the original Trader Sam's in California gets its ideas from the Enchanted Tiki Room and Jungle Cruise, the Grog Grotto in Florida adds even more. It also includes themes from the classic movie 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Both locations offer unique and exciting experiences for guests.
