Tray facts for kids
A tray is a flat, shallow container that helps you carry things easily. Imagine needing to move a few glasses or plates from one room to another – a tray makes it simple! Trays usually have raised edges. These edges stop items from sliding off while you move them.
What is a Tray?
Trays are super useful for carrying many different items at once. They are usually flat, but their raised sides act like a fence, keeping everything safely in place. Most trays are shaped like a rectangle, but you can find them in other shapes too. Some trays have special handles on the sides, which makes them even easier to pick up and carry around.
Types of Trays: The Butler's Tray
One special type is called a butler's tray. This kind of tray has deeper sides than a regular tray. It also has handles, often cut right into its shorter sides, making it easy to hold. What makes a butler's tray extra special are its folding legs. You can use it to carry drinks, and then set it down on its legs to become a small side table.
