How Tri-Fest Helps Others
Tri-Fest helps local charities in two main ways. It's all about making a difference in the community.
Raising Money for Good Causes
First, the Breakfast Lions Club sells tickets to the festival. They also charge a small fee to businesses that set up food booths or other stands. Some of this money helps plan Tri-Fest for the next year. But most of it goes straight to local charities. This means your ticket helps people in need!
Charities Keep Their Profits
Second, local non-profit groups are invited to set up their own booths. These groups include schools, churches, and hospitals. They can sell food or share information. The best part is that these charities get to keep all the money they make! This helps them support their important work.
Delicious Food and Fun
Many different kinds of food are offered at Tri-Fest. You might find yummy pork chop sandwiches or refreshing lemonade. Other treats include apple dumplings, corn dogs, and hamburgers. There's even a famous deep fried Twinkie to try!
Fun Activities at Tri-Fest
Tri-Fest usually takes place over one weekend in downtown Henderson. Main Street and Central Park become a big festival area just for people walking around.
Live Entertainment and More
You can often find live music and shows on the Central Park stage. Over the years, Tri-Fest has grown to include even more events. These happen in the weeks leading up to the main weekend.
Sports and Creative Events
Some of the extra events include exciting sports tournaments. There's also a bike ride that covers 12K or 36K. You can also enjoy a beauty pageant and an art contest. The whole festival ends with amazing fireworks over downtown Henderson and the Ohio River.
Tri-Fest History
Tri-Fest has been a yearly tradition for a long time. It took a break in 2020 and 2021. But it happily returned on April 22–24, 2022, bringing back all the fun and charity work.
