Trimble is a small place in Colorado, United States. It's located right next to the Animas River in an area called La Plata County. Trimble is known as an unincorporated community. This means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own official town government. Instead, it's managed by the larger county around it.

History

Trimble has a simple but interesting past. The community got its name from a local person named Frank Trimble. He was a cattleman, which means he raised cattle in the area.

A post office was opened in Trimble in 1883. This was an important place for people to send and receive letters and packages. However, the post office closed its doors in 1900. Even though the post office is gone, the name Trimble has stayed with this quiet community.
