Trịnh Xuân Thuận (born August 20, 1948) is an American astrophysicist with Vietnamese roots. He is well-known for his studies on how galaxies form and change. He also writes many popular books about science for everyone to enjoy.

About Trịnh Xuân Thuận
Trịnh Xuân Thuận was born in Hanoi, Vietnam. He studied at some of the best universities in the world. He earned his first degree from the California Institute of Technology. Later, he received his PhD from Princeton University.
Since 1976, he has taught astronomy at the University of Virginia. He is a professor there. He also works as a researcher at the Institut d’Astrophysique de Paris. He was one of the people who helped start the International Society for Science and Religion.
Awards and Recognition
Trịnh Xuân Thuận has received several important awards for his work. In 2009, UNESCO gave him the Kalinga Prize. This award is for people who do a great job of making science popular. He also received the Kalinga chair award in India.
In 2012, he won the Prix mondial Cino Del Duca. This award comes from the Institut de France. It honors writers whose work, whether literary or scientific, shares a message of modern humanism. This means his work helps us understand what it means to be human in today's world.
