Tristan Gale (born August 10, 1980) is an American athlete. She is famous for being a skeleton racer. Skeleton is a winter sport where a person slides head-first down a frozen track on a small sled. Tristan Gale made history at the 2002 Winter Olympics by winning the first-ever gold medal in women's skeleton.

Tristan Gale's Amazing Career
Tristan Gale competed in skeleton from 2001 to 2006. Her biggest achievement was winning the gold medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. For these Olympics, she even dyed her hair with streaks of red, white, and blue!
Olympic Gold and World Cup Success
After her Olympic win, Tristan continued to do well. During the 2002–2003 season, she won another gold medal. This win happened on her home track in Salt Lake City during a World Cup event. She has a perfect record at the Utah Olympic Park track since the Olympics.
World Championship Medal
Tristan Gale also earned a bronze medal. This was at the 2003 FIBT World Championships in Nagano, Japan. She retired from the sport before the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy. Her best overall ranking in the Skeleton World Cup was third place in the 2002–2003 season.
