Troy Brosnan was born on July 13, 1993, in Adelaide, South Australia. He is an amazing Australian professional cyclist who specializes in downhill mountain bike racing. This sport involves riding bikes down steep, rough trails as fast as possible.
When he was younger, Troy became a junior world champion twice! He also won championships in Oceania and Australia for downhill racing. As an adult, he has finished third overall in the World Cup series two times. He's also been the Australian champion eight times!
Troy's Early Career
Troy Brosnan showed great talent from a young age. He became the junior downhill world champion in both 2010 and 2011. These wins were a big deal in the world of mountain biking.
He also won the overall junior World Cup series in both 2010 and 2011. This means he was the best junior rider across several races that year. In 2011, he was also the Australian national downhill champion. That same year, he won the junior continental championship of Oceania.
Racing as an Adult
Troy started competing in the elite (adult) category in 2012. He quickly became one of the top riders. In 2014, he finished third overall in the downhill World Cup series. He also won one of the races in that series, which took place in Fort William, Scotland.
Later in 2014, Troy won a bronze medal at the world championships in Hafjell, Norway. He continued to do well, finishing third overall in the World Cup series again in 2015 and 2016.
