As a younger rider, called a junior, he won the world championship twice. He also became the champion of Oceania and Australia once in downhill racing. As an adult, he has finished third overall in the world cup twice. He has also won the Australian championship eight times.

Troy Brosnan started his racing career strong. He became the junior downhill world champion in both 2010 and 2011. He also won the overall junior world cup title in those same years. In 2011, he was the Australian national downhill champion. That year, he also won the junior continental championship for Oceania.
