About the Show: True and the Rainbow Kingdom
True and the Rainbow Kingdom tells the story of True and her best friend, Bartleby the Cat. They live in the amazing and colorful Rainbow Kingdom. This world is full of interesting and magical people. True is special because she can use the magical powers of the Wishes from the Wishing Tree. She uses these powers to solve problems in the Rainbow Kingdom. She also helps viewers use their imagination, be mindful, and show empathy.
Meet the Characters
- True (voiced by Michela Luci): True is an 8-year-old hero. She is kind, smart, and full of energy. True faces every challenge with a big smile. What makes her truly amazing is that she is the only one who can make the Wishes' special powers work. These powers create magical energy!
- Bartleby (voiced by Jamie Watson): Bartleby is True's funny cat friend. He acts very brave and talks a lot. But only True, his best friend, knows he's a little bit of a scaredy-cat. He has strong opinions and often talks, which helps True think of creative ways to solve problems.
- Rainbow King (voiced by Eric Peterson): He is the kind and humble ruler of the Rainbow Kingdom. The Rainbow King knows a lot. He shares his wisdom through riddles, which makes True's adventures more fun. He always wants to help True. But he also knows that True truly succeeds when she solves problems by herself.
- Zee (voiced by Dante Zee (seasons 1–2), later by Nicolas Aqui (season 3-present)): Zee is True's friend and helps the Rainbow King. He is also the wish keeper. Zee is a "Wishologist," meaning he knows all about the Wishes and their powers. When a problem comes up, True goes to Zee for advice and help from the Wishing Tree.
- Grizelda (voiced by Anna Bartlam): Grizelda is a young princess who thinks a lot about herself. Deep down, she wants a friend like True. True always tries to be friends with Grizelda, but Grizelda's selfish ways can make it hard. However, love in the Rainbow Kingdom is always there, so True never gives up on her. Grizelda just needs a little more love.
- Frookie: Frookie is a dog and Grizelda's sidekick. He looks out for the princess because he knows that deep inside, Grizelda isn't so bad.
- The Wishes: The Wishes don't talk, but they show their feelings with funny movements and sweet sounds. Each Wish has a unique personality that matches or is different from its power. The Wishes have a special connection with True. They train with Zee until True calls them to action. Each Wish has a special power that only True can "Spark."
Other Friends in the Kingdom
- Yetis: These creatures live in The Rainbow Kingdom. They talk in "Yeti-ish." But they all know one word: a loud, friendly "HI!" with a big wave.
- Urg and Snick: A Yeti couple who live in Yeti Village. True is usually the one who translates for them, as she's the only one (besides the Rainbow King) who speaks "Yeti-ish."
- Grock, Yerck, and Floof: Urg and Snick's baby Yeti triplets. Grock and Yerk are girls, and Floof is a boy. This whole family is good friends with True and Bartleby.
- Rainbow citizens: These are all the other people who live in the Rainbow Kingdom.
- Grizmos: These are Grizelda's helpers. They act as her servants and live in a cave under her castle.
- Cumulo: This is a cumulus cloud that True and Bartleby ride on to travel around the Rainbow Kingdom.
- Glummy Glooma: The Rainbow King's gloomy cousin. He likes everything to be gloomy, even if others don't. He also brings the grey clouds of autumn and changes the seasons for the Grabbleapple Fest.
- Little Helpers: These are small creatures with four arms. They are found all over The Rainbow Kingdom, doing helpful jobs to keep things running smoothly.
- Mila: A little girl who lives in Rainbow City. She has a giant pet stink critter named "Stinko." Thanks to True, Bartleby, and the wishes, Stinko is no longer stinky! Mila is also friends with Rocky the Rock Critter.
- Rocky: A Rock Critter who is friends with Mila, The Rainbow King, and True and Bartleby. True is the only one among them who doesn't speak "Rock-ish."
- Bingo Bango: A DJ shaped like a boombox. He's a bit shy and quiet, but he can make any party awesome with his music.
- The Wishing Tree: A very important tree on top of the Rainbow Castle. Zee, the Wish Keeper, studies the Wishes who live there. The Rainbow King brings new wishes to the tree from Wishing Heart Hollow. True and Bartleby go here to ask Zee for advice and help from the Wishes.
- Shadow and Silverclaw: These are the masters of The Kittynati, an old group of cat ninjas. Bartleby trains with them at The Black Tabby Dojo. He eventually earns his Red Tabby Belt, becoming a true Ninja Cat and Kittynati.
