The Story of Trump Ice
Trump Ice water was first sold around 1995. You could only find it at casinos and other places owned by Donald Trump.
Around 2003, the water started to be sold in more places. It became available in grocery stores and special food shops across the United States.
How Trump Ice Was Distributed
A company called Mountain Spring Waters of America helped distribute Trump Ice. They worked in the New York and New Jersey areas. Their goal was to make Trump Ice a well-known brand, just like other popular bottled waters. They sold it in different sizes, from small bottles to large water tanks.
Kelly Perdew, who won the TV show The Apprentice 2, became an executive for Trump Ice. Donald Trump himself invested nearly $500,000 in the water brand.
When Trump Ice Stopped Being Sold
The Trump Ice brand was officially stopped in 2010. However, "Trump Natural Spring Water" is still available. You can find it only at hotels, restaurants, and golf clubs that are part of the Trump brand. In 2015, financial records showed that the bank account for Trump Natural Spring Water had over $400,000.
Trump Ice was also featured on the first season of The Apprentice. In one episode, the people competing on the show had to try and sell the water.
In October 2015, during the time when people were running for president, Donald Trump sent some Trump Ice to a political rival, Marco Rubio. Trump had joked that Rubio often seemed sweaty. Along with the water, Trump sent other items and a note that said, "Since you're always sweating, we thought you could use some water. Enjoy!"
Making Trump Ice Water
Trump Ice was advertised as "one of the purest natural spring waters bottled in the world." Donald Trump once said that Trump Ice had no sodium in it.
The water came from Vermont and was bottled in New York. The design of the bottle was described as "fiery" by a writer from New York magazine. It showed Trump's face on a background that was first red, then later blue.
