Trundle Manor is a very unique and unusual museum located in Swissvale, Pennsylvania. This interesting place is near the city of Pittsburgh. It was started by an artist couple, Anton and Rachel Miriello. The museum is home to their personal collection of strange and wonderful items. These include things related to cryptozoology (creatures some people believe exist), old taxidermy (stuffed animals), and specimens preserved in jars.

When visitors come for a tour, Anton Miriello and Rachel Miriello use fun nicknames. Anton goes by Mr. Arm, and Rachel is known as Velda Von Minx. Instead of paying with money, guests are asked to donate interesting items to the collection. These donations can be anything from unusual tools to even preserved former pets in jars!

The Story of Trundle Manor

Anton and Rachel Miriello bought the old Victorian house that became Trundle Manor in 2007. They loved spooky styles like Goth and Steampunk, and they also enjoyed classic horror movies. This led them to collect many strange and wonderful items over time. Their interest in unusual things started when they were kids. Mr. Arm shared that he has been collecting things since he was a small child.

In 2009, they decided to open their collection and their home to the public for tours. Since then, thousands of people visit Trundle Manor every year. It has become a well-known place of interest in Pittsburgh. Trundle Manor was even featured on "MTV’s Extreme Cribs" in 2011.

Besides giving tours, Trundle Manor also hosts and takes part in different events. They often have classes where people can learn about taxidermy. They also put on art shows and comedy shows. The Miriellos have even taken parts of their collection on the road as a traveling "creep show."

What Can You See at Trundle Manor?

Olivia's Singing Tumor

One of the most talked-about exhibits at Trundle Manor is called Olivia's Singing Tumor. This is a large, harmless tumor that is kept in a glass jar. It has a special musical device that makes it "sing." A belly dancer donated this tumor to the couple. She asked them to promise that it would be put on display for others to see.
