Tsuyoshi Tanikawa (谷川 烈, Tanikawa Tsuyoshi, born April 25, 1980) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a Midfielder. He started his career playing for youth teams. Later, he played for several professional clubs in Japan and even in the United States.

Tsuyoshi Tanikawa's Football Journey

Tsuyoshi Tanikawa was born in Shizuoka, Japan, on April 25, 1980. He started playing football at a young age. He joined the youth team of Shimizu S-Pulse. This team plays in the J1 League, which is Japan's top football league.

In 1999, Tsuyoshi joined the main Shimizu S-Pulse team. He played his first game on March 27 as a left defender. However, he didn't get to play many games during his first few years with the team.

In August 2001, he moved to Ventforet Kofu. This team was in the J2 League, which is the second-highest league in Japan. He joined them on a loan, meaning he was borrowed by the team for a while. At Ventforet Kofu, he played every game as a central defender.

Tsuyoshi returned to Shimizu S-Pulse in 2002. But again, he didn't play much. In 2003, he moved to the United States. There, he joined a team called New Hampshire Phantoms.

He came back to Japan in 2004. He joined Mito HollyHock, another J2 League team. Still, he didn't play many matches. In 2005, he moved to FC Machida Zelvia. This team was in a lower league at the time.

At FC Machida Zelvia, Tsuyoshi played many games. His good play helped the club move up to a higher league in 2006. He continued playing for them until the end of the 2007 season. After that, he stopped playing professional football.
