About Tuba City High School

Tuba City High School first opened its doors in 1959. It is one of two high schools in the town of Tuba City. Right next to it is Greyhills Academy High School, which started in 1972. The two schools are separated by a fence. They are known rivals in both academics and sports.

In 1974, Tuba City High School received funding from two sources. These were the local school district and the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Even though there were two different principals, all students attended the same classes. This included both local students and those living at the boarding school.
