The chain first started in Charleston, West Virginia. Some of their biscuit sandwiches are named after local sports teams. These teams include those from Marshall University, West Virginia University, and The University of Charleston.

The Story of Tudor's Biscuit World

How Tudor's Began

Tudor's Biscuit World was the idea of Bill and Mae Tudor. Their son, John Tudor, also helped create the concept. Bill and Mae opened the very first Tudor's restaurant in 1980. It was located on Washington Street in Charleston, West Virginia.

Just two months later, their son John joined the family business. He had just finished college at East Carolina University. They quickly opened more restaurants. These new locations were in the Charleston and Huntington areas. Soon, they started selling franchises. This meant other people could open their own Tudor's restaurants.

Growing the Business

In 1986, Bill Tudor passed away. John and his mother, Mae, continued to make the business grow. They welcomed Oshel Craigo as a new partner. He helped them expand the franchise even more. Today, Tudor's Biscuit World is a well-known name. It is especially popular for breakfast in West Virginia and nearby states.
