Making the Movie
Making a movie like Turtles Forever is a big job! The team at 4Kids, who made the 2003 cartoon, wanted to include the voices from the classic 1987 show. However, they couldn't get the original voice actors to come back. This was because the 1987 show was recorded in Los Angeles, but the 2003 show was made in New York. It was tough to get everyone together from different cities.
Who's Who in the Voices
Here are some of the talented people who lent their voices to the different versions of the Ninja Turtles in Turtles Forever:
- Jason Griffith as the 1984 Leonardo
- Dan Green as the 1987 Leonardo
- Michael Sinterniklaas as the 2003 Leonardo
- Sean Schemmel as the 1984 Raphael
- Sebastian Arcelus as the 1987 Raphael
The Story of Turtles Forever
A Crossover Adventure
Turtles Forever is all about a "crossover." This means characters from different shows or comics meet up. In this movie, the Ninja Turtles from the 2003 cartoon accidentally meet the Turtles from the 1987 cartoon! It's a wild ride as these two teams, who are very different, have to learn to work together.
Different Turtle Teams
The 1987 Turtles are known for being more silly and fun-loving. They often crack jokes and love pizza! The 2003 Turtles are a bit more serious and focused on their ninja training. When they meet, they are surprised by each other's styles. It's funny to see how they react to their "other selves."
Facing a Big Threat
The reason these different Turtle teams meet is because of a huge threat: the evil Shredder! But it's not just one Shredder. The Shredder from the 2003 cartoon, who is an alien called an Utrom, finds a way to travel through different dimensions. He discovers that there are many versions of the Ninja Turtles and even more versions of himself! His ultimate goal is to destroy all Ninja Turtles in every dimension.
To stop this super-powerful Shredder, the 1987 Turtles and the 2003 Turtles must team up. They even get help from the original, tougher Turtles from the 1984 comic books! It's a massive battle across different worlds to save all of reality.
Why This Movie is Special
Turtles Forever was released to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. It was a big treat for fans who had grown up with different versions of the Turtles. It showed how much the characters had changed over the years but also how their core spirit remained the same. It's a tribute to a beloved series that has entertained kids and adults for decades.
