Early Life and Start in Acting
Jason Griffith was born in Lakeline, Ohio. He finished high school in Eastlake, Ohio in 1999. He started acting when he was 17 years old, in 1997.
He had small roles in movies like Edge of Seventeen and Kill Kill Faster Faster. He also appeared in an episode of the TV show Blue Bloods.
Voice Acting Career
In 2003, Jason Griffith began working a lot as a voice actor. He worked for a children's TV block called 4Kids TV. This led him to voice many characters in cartoons. He was Tom Majors in Chaotic and Miyamoto Usagi in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He also voiced Bongo the Monkey in commercials for Danimals.
One of his biggest roles was voicing Sonic the Hedgehog and Shadow the Hedgehog for the English version of Sonic X. Because of this, the company Sega chose him to voice Sonic and Shadow in the Sonic the Hedgehog video games. He voiced these characters from the game Shadow the Hedgehog in 2005 until Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing in 2010. He also voiced Jet the Hawk in some of these games.
After 2010, other actors took over the voices of Sonic, Shadow, and Jet in the games. However, Jason Griffith continued to voice Sonic in 4Kids TV promotions until 2014.
From 2011 to 2012, he was in a web comedy series called Casters. In 2015, he voiced characters in the English version of the cartoon Super Wings. More recently, in 2020, 2021, and 2024, he returned to voice Sonic and Shadow in a fan-made YouTube series called Sonic and Tails R.
