What Happens in the Movie
Ash Meets a Lost Genesect
The Pokémon trainers Ash Ketchum, Iris, and Cilan visit Pokémon Hills. This is a big nature park located inside a city. While there, Ash quickly makes friends with a lost Genesect. Genesect are special Pokémon that were brought back to life from fossils. They had been extinct for 300 million years. Ash offers to help this friendly Genesect find its way home.
Suddenly, a red Genesect attacks Ash. It forces the friendly Genesect to attack him too. But then, Mewtwo appears. Mewtwo is another Pokémon created by people. It blocks the attack and saves Ash, Cilan, and Iris. The Genesect leave, not knowing that the humans survived.
Genesect Take Over Pokémon Hills
That night, five Genesect take over the center of Pokémon Hills. They chase away all the other Pokémon. They start building a huge nest there. They build it near some Panna Lotuses. These flowers grew in their home 300 million years ago. The Genesect want to turn the park into their new home.
This takeover threatens the power station under Pokémon Hills. It also puts the city's power supply at risk. Mewtwo hears about the Genesect's rampage. It appears to stop them. Mewtwo tells the red Genesect not to hurt the other Pokémon. But the red Genesect refuses to listen. Mewtwo and the red Genesect then start a super-fast chase around the city.
The Battle and the Fire
Meanwhile, the Pokémon that live in Pokémon Hills fight the three other Genesect. The park Pokémon start to win the battle. Then, the red Genesect returns to protect its group. The friendly Genesect saves Ash from an attack. It takes the hit from the other Genesect and collapses. Mewtwo fights the four remaining Genesect. It starts to win the fight. However, during the battle, the Genesect's nest catches fire.
Ash's Oshawott and the wild Pokémon of Pokémon Hills work together. They help put out the flames. They save three of the Genesect from the fire. These Genesect then realize that the other Pokémon are not their enemies. They even save Ash from a falling beam.
Finding a New Home
Ash and the four Genesect (not including the red one) run between Mewtwo and the red Genesect. They want to stop the fighting. The red Genesect still thinks everyone is its enemy. It fires a powerful attack. But Mewtwo blocks it and takes the red Genesect into space.
Up in space, the red Genesect sees the beautiful Earth. It realizes that all people and Pokémon are friends. But Mewtwo and the red Genesect cannot survive in space. They start to fall back down. Oshawott and the wild Pokémon create a giant ball of water. This cushions Mewtwo and the red Genesect's fall. By morning, Eric, a park ranger, restores the power to the city.
Ash realizes the perfect place for the Genesect to live. It's Absentia National Park. This is the only place where Panna Lotuses still grow naturally. Ash, Iris, Cilan, and Eric take the Genesect there. The Genesect then begin building another nest in their new, safe home.
