Twist is a small place in Cross County, Arkansas, United States. It is known as an "unincorporated community." This means it does not have its own local government like a city or town. Twist got its name from a large farm nearby that was also called Twist.
A Famous Guitar Story
Twist is famous because of the legendary blues musician B.B. King. He mentioned Twist in his well-known song "Lucille." The song tells a story about a club where B.B. King was playing music.
One night, two men started a fight over a woman named Lucille. This fight accidentally caused the club to catch fire. B.B. King bravely went back into the burning building to save his guitar. Because of this exciting event, he decided to name his beloved guitar "Lucille."
Other Famous People
Another blues musician, Little Mack Simmons, was born in Twist. He was a talented harmonica player and singer. Little Mack Simmons lived from 1933 to 2000.
