Two-Minute Drill is an exciting children's book written by Mike Lupica. It came out in 2007 and is the very first book in his popular Comeback Kids series. This story is all about football, friendship, and finding your place.
What's the Story About?
The book introduces us to Scott Parry. He's new to the school and feels a bit out of place. Scott is super smart, but he's also pretty clumsy.
Then there's Chris Conlan. Chris is the star quarterback of the school's football team. Everyone looks up to him. He seems to have it all figured out.
Scott decides to join the football team. This brings him face-to-face with Chris. At first, they seem like total opposites. It's hard to imagine them ever being friends.
But Scott and Chris soon discover they share a secret. This secret starts to bring them closer. It helps them understand each other better. The story explores how these two different kids learn to work together. They also learn about teamwork and friendship on the football field.
