About Michael Lupica
Michael Lupica was born in Oneida, New York. He spent his early childhood there. In 1964, his family moved to Nashua, New Hampshire. He went to middle school and Bishop Guertin High School there, finishing in 1970. He then graduated from Boston College in 1974.
Lupica first became known as a sportswriter in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. He wrote a column called "The Sporting Life" for Esquire magazine for ten years. He has also written for other magazines like Golf Digest and Parade. In 2003, he received the Jim Murray Award for his sports writing.
His Work as a Columnist
Lupica started working for the New York Daily News in 1977. He spent most of his career there as a columnist. A columnist writes regular articles, sharing their opinions on different topics. He wrote several sports columns each week. He also had a special Sunday column called "Shooting from the Lip." This column included his main thoughts and quick, sharp observations about the week's sports news.
