"Two Worlds" is a famous song by the English musician Phil Collins. It is the main theme song for Disney's 1999 movie Tarzan. You can hear this song four times on the movie's soundtrack.

About the Song

How the Song Was Made

"Two Worlds" was the very first song Phil Collins wrote for the Tarzan movie. After he wrote it, he worked with the movie's music composer, Mark Mancina. They made sure the song's main tunes and ideas were used throughout the whole movie. This helped all the music in the film sound connected. It made sure the songs didn't feel like they were just dropped in without fitting the rest of the music.

Phil Collins recorded "Two Worlds" in five different languages! He sang it in English, Spanish (Dos Mundos), Italian (Se vuoi), French (Entre deux mondes), and German (Zwei Welten). The song was also released as a single. It stayed on the German Singles Charts for five weeks. It reached its highest spot at number 43 on October 2, 2000.

You can also find "Two Worlds" in the Disney video game Tarzan Activity Center. In an activity called "Tarzan's Sing and Swing," players could listen to this song. They could also sing along to a karaoke version of it.

Where You Hear It in the Movie

The song "Two Worlds" plays right at the start of the Tarzan movie. It comes on after the title credits. The song is used many times in the film to show that Tarzan feels caught between two different worlds.

The main version of the song plays during the movie's opening. It goes along with a scene that shows a leopard attacking Tarzan's parents. Then, baby Tarzan washes up on the shore. The song helps show the two families Tarzan will have: his human birth family and the gorilla family that raises him.

You hear the song again later in the movie. It also plays at the very end when Tarzan and Jane decide to stay in the jungle. They say goodbye to Jane's father. There is also a pop version of the song by Phil Collins. This version plays during the movie's end credits and is on the soundtrack too.
