Tyler is a small community in Pemiscot County, located in the state of Missouri. It is an unincorporated community, which means it does not have its own local government like a city or town.

Where is Tyler Located?

Tyler is found in the southeastern part of Missouri. It sits right on County Road 570.

You can find Tyler about four miles (or 6.4 kilometers) southeast of a town called Cooter. The famous Mississippi River is also very close, just 1.5 miles (about 2.4 kilometers) to the east. Another nearby place is Cottonwood Point, which is right on the bank of the Mississippi River. It is about three miles (or 4.8 kilometers) northeast of Tyler.

Tyler's History

Tyler once had its own post office. This post office first opened its doors in 1891. It served the community for many years, helping people send and receive mail. The post office eventually closed in 1954.

The community of Tyler was named after a person called H. A. Tyler. He was a businessperson who worked in the lumber industry. This means he was involved in cutting down trees and processing wood.
