Tyler Florence (born March 3, 1971) is a famous American chef and television host. He is well-known for his shows on the Food Network.
Tyler graduated from the College of Culinary Arts at Johnson & Wales University in Charleston, South Carolina, in 1991. Later, the university gave him an honorary doctorate degree because of his amazing success in cooking. Today, he owns and is the main chef at Wayfare Tavern in San Francisco.

Tyler's Career
On Television
Tyler Florence has been a host on many popular TV shows. He presented Globe Trekker and hosted Food 911 and How to Boil Water. He also co-hosted Worst Cooks in America with Anne Burrell.
Currently, he hosts Tyler's Ultimate, The Great Food Truck Race, and Bite Club on the Food Network. Tyler was also a judge on Worst Cooks in America for several seasons. In 2007, he helped host a cooking competition with chef Joey Altman to raise money for the Afterschool Alliance. This group helps support after-school programs for kids.
Tyler has also appeared on other TV shows. He was on The Oprah Winfrey Show for a Sandwich Showdown. He has also been on The Today Show many times and The View. In 2023, Tyler was on the reality TV series Special Forces: World's Toughest Test. He chose to leave the show in the first episode.
Other Projects
In 2018, Tyler Florence directed a documentary film called Uncrushable. This film was about the 2017 California Wildfires. It showed videos from first responders and interviews with people who were affected by the fires.
Tyler also created a podcast called Wolf it Down. On this podcast, he talked to many people who work in the food and technology industries. He also appeared as a guest on the Barfly Podcast in March 2021.
His Restaurants
Tyler Florence has opened several restaurants. In 2009, he opened luxury kitchen supply stores in Northern California. He also created new restaurant ideas for the area.
One of his famous restaurants is Wayfare Tavern in downtown San Francisco. He also opened Miller & Lux, a modern American steakhouse. This restaurant is part of San Francisco's Chase Center and has another location at the Four Seasons Hualalai Resort.
Other Roles
In 2008, Tyler Florence was named the Dean of Culinary Education at Copia. Copia was a museum in Napa, California, that focused on food and wine, but it is now closed.
Tyler's Family Life
Tyler Florence has three children. He has a son from his first marriage. He married his current wife, Tolan Clark, in December 2006. They have a son and a daughter together.
In 2007, Tyler and his wife moved from New York City to Mill Valley, California. In July 2008, Tyler opened a kitchen store there that was named after him.
