U-Jean was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. From a young age, he loved performing.

After finishing school, U-Jean moved to Germany. He went there as a U.S. Soldier. Soon after arriving in Darmstadt, Germany, he tried out for the U.S. Europe Soldier Show. This show was based in Schwetzingen, Germany. He was accepted into the show. This was the start of his professional singing career. He traveled all over Europe, performing more than 200 shows each year. He also shared American music and culture with people in Europe.

U-Jean really liked living in Europe. In June 2008, he finished his time in the army. He decided to stay in Germany and become a full-time singer. He became a member of a popular band called Sweet Soul Music Revue. He performed at many big events around the world. U-Jean is not only a singer but also writes and produces music. He works on soul, hip-hop, and R&B styles. He also performs with The King Kamehameha Band from Frankfurt, Germany. In 2009, he started his own band, the U-Jean band. They have been performing for many years, sharing their smooth vocals.

In the spring of 2009, U-Jean and his friends started a music company called Whazz Crackin. By late 2010, they had created many modern hip-hop and dance songs. U-Jean has written and recorded music with well-known record companies in Europe.

In 2011, U-Jean met Yanou and DJ Manian. They are producers from Zooland Records, known for working with bands like Cascada and R.I.O. Together, they recorded hit songs like "Turn This Club Around," "Animal," and "Summer Jam." These songs became very popular. "Turn This Club Around" reached number three on the German charts and number one on iTunes. It also earned six gold awards in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

Around this time, U-Jean became a very popular "featuring artist" in Europe. This means other artists often asked him to sing on their songs. He worked with famous musicians like DJ Antoine, Mischa Daniels, Jenson Vaughan, and Mike Candys.
