UFC 160: Velasquez vs. Bigfoot 2 was a big mixed martial arts (MMA) event. It happened on May 25, 2013. The event took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. MMA is a sport where fighters use different styles like boxing and wrestling.

About UFC 160

This event was a special night for fight fans. The main fight was a rematch. It was between the UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez and Antonio Silva. A rematch means they had fought before. In their first fight in 2012, Velasquez won by TKO. TKO stands for "Technical Knockout." This means the referee stopped the fight because one fighter could not continue safely.

Changes to the Fight Card

Sometimes, fighters get hurt before an event. This means they cannot compete. For UFC 160, some fights had to change.

  • Alistair Overeem was supposed to fight Junior dos Santos. But Overeem got a leg injury. So, Mark Hunt stepped in to fight Dos Santos instead.
  • Ryan Bader was set to fight Glover Teixeira. He also got injured. James Te Huna took his place.
  • Amir Sadollah was going to fight Stephen Thompson. Sadollah got injured too. Nah-Shon Burrell replaced him.
  • Gunnar Nelson was supposed to fight Mike Pyle. Nelson got hurt. Rick Story fought Pyle instead.

One fighter, Khabib Nurmagomedov, weighed a little too much for his fight. So, his fight was changed to a "catchweight" fight. This means they agreed on a different weight limit.
