USD Novese facts for kids
Unione Sportiva Dilettantistica Novese is an Italian football club. It comes from Novi Ligure, a town in Piedmont, Italy. The team currently plays in the Promozione league.
Novese is famous for winning the Italian Football Championship in the 1921–22 season. This makes them special because they are the only Italian team to win a national championship (a scudetto) without ever playing in Italy's top leagues, Serie A or Serie B.

History of Novese Football Club
The Novese football club started in 1919. Just a few years later, they made history by winning the F.I.G.C. 1921–22 Italian Football Championship.
That season was a bit unusual for Italian football. There were actually two different national leagues running at the same time! One was organized by the Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio (FIGC). The other was set up by a new group called the Confederazione Calcistica Italiana (CCI). The CCI league included many of the biggest teams from Northern Italy back then. Novese won the championship organized by the FIGC.
