Ultramontanism facts for kids
Ultranontanism was a movement within the Roman Catholic Church of the 18th and 19th century. It placed storng emphasis on what the pope had to say. The name in copmonsed of ultra ("beyond"), and refered to the fact that the pope at that time was on the other side of the Alps.
