When he was 24, Umar and his brother Adam started a fashion company called "PrettyLittleThing.com." This company sells clothes, accessories, and other cool stuff mainly to young women aged 12 to 25.

Working at Boohoo.com
In 2006, Umar Kamani started working in his family's business, Boohoo.com. He was a manager there. Boohoo.com is a very popular online fashion store.
In 2014, Boohoo.com became a public company. This means its shares could be bought and sold on the stock market. This made the Kamani family much wealthier. By September 2016, people in business started to think that Boohoo.com might buy PrettyLittleThing. This was because Boohoo's sales had grown a lot.
Starting PrettyLittleThing.com
Umar Kamani and his brother Adam Kamani started PrettyLittleThing.com in January 2012. It quickly became very popular. By mid-2013, famous people like Miley Cyrus and Nicki Minaj were seen wearing their clothes.
In December 2016, Boohoo bought 66% of PrettyLittleThing for £3.3 million. The team at PrettyLittleThing grew a lot. In 2014, they had 65 employees. By the end of 2015, they had 300 employees. This was because they went from sending out 20 orders a day in 2014 to sending 20,000 packages a day by mid-2015! Umar also shared that their sales for the whole year went up by 500%, reaching £30 million.
In 2016, PrettyLittleThing opened a big office and store in Los Angeles, California, in the United States. A famous celebrity, Kylie Jenner, even hosted the launch party.
In May 2020, Umar Kamani sold his remaining share of PrettyLittleThing.com to Boohoo. He received £161 million in cash and also got a small share in Boohoo.
In April 2023, Umar Kamani announced that he was stepping down. He stopped being the main boss, or Chief Executive, at PrettyLittleThing.com.
