Umawera is a small community located in the Northland Region of New Zealand. It's a quiet place where State Highway 1, a main road, passes right through.
To the northwest of Umawera, you'll find the Mangamuka Bridge. To the east, there's another community called Rangiahua. Umawera is part of a larger area known as the Omahuta Forest-Horeke statistical area, which covers the upper part of the Hokianga Harbour.

Learning in Umawera: The Local School
The community of Umawera has its own school, called Umawera School. This school is for both boys and girls. It teaches students from Year 1 to Year 6, which are the primary school years. As of the latest information, there are 23 students attending Umawera School.
