Under Wraps is a 1997 American TV movie. It's a comedy film directed by Greg Beeman. This movie was the very first Disney Channel Original Movie (DCOM). It stars Bill Fagerbakke, Adam Wylie, Mario Yedidia, and Clara Bryant. The film was shot in Chico, California. Disney Channel celebrated it in 2016 as part of their 100 DCOMs event.

What's the Story About?
Marshall (Mario Yedidia) loves monster movies. His friends, Amy (Clara Bryant) and Gilbert (Adam Wylie), aren't as keen on monsters. But they are still very good friends. One day, they find an Egyptian mummy in the basement of an old house.
Thanks to an old amulet and the moonlight, the mummy wakes up! The kids are scared at first. But they soon learn he is harmless. He's just a bit clumsy and confused. Marshall becomes good friends with the mummy. He names him "Harold" because he reminds him of his uncle.
The friends decide they must hide Harold. They also want to find a way to help him. They visit Bruce, a local shop owner. Bruce knows a lot about monsters and old myths. He tells them that if the mummy isn't back in his sarcophagus by midnight on Halloween, he will disappear forever.
But the sarcophagus is with Mr. Kubat. He is the man who owned the house. Mr. Kubat pretended to be gone to avoid paying his bills. He also deals in old Egyptian items. That's why he had the mummy. When he finds out the mummy is gone, he sends his helpers to get it back. He wants to sell it to someone.
The children must keep Harold safe from everyone. They also need to protect him from Mr. Kubat's helpers. As Halloween gets closer, the kids learn something special. Harold was in love in his past life. He wants to be with his beloved again.
At a Halloween party, Harold can hide easily. Everyone thinks he's just a person in a costume. But then some of his bandages come off. People see he's not alive! Harold is captured. His friends get Bruce to help them rescue him. They use some clever Halloween props. Gilbert even drives a car through a wall!
After many adventures, the group learns to work together. They stop Mr. Kubat's plans. They also bring Harold and his love back together. They return to their rest peacefully, just in time.

Where Can You Watch It?
For a long time, you couldn't buy this movie to watch at home. But in 2005, Echo Bridge Entertainment released it on DVD. Now, you can find it on iTunes and Amazon Video. As of 2022, it's not yet on Disney's streaming service.
New Adventures: Remake and Sequel
On November 13, 2020, Disney announced a new version of the movie! This remake came out in October 2021. It stars Christian J. Simon, Malachi Barton, Sophia Hammons, and Phil Wright. Alex Zamm directed and helped write it.
Then, on February 7, 2022, they announced a sequel! The second movie, called Under Wraps 2, was released on September 25, 2022.
