The United Kingdom DodgeBall Association (UKDBA) was an important group for dodgeball in the UK. It was started in 2005 by Mo Islam. The main office for the association was in Stevenage, United Kingdom.

Until 2018, Sport England recognized the UKDBA as the official national group for dodgeball in the UK. This meant they helped organize and grow the sport across the country.

Dodgeball Leagues

The UKDBA helped set up and run several dodgeball leagues. These leagues allowed teams to compete against each other.

Premier League

The Premier League was the top dodgeball league in the UK. It started in 2010. In the first season, six of the best teams in the UK played over six weeks. The Jammy Dodgers won the first title.

In the second season, the league grew to eight teams. Bedford Bulls won the championship that year. Derby Seahawks won the title in the 2012/13 season. The league continued to grow, reaching 10 teams by the 2013/14 season. The Meteors won that year by a very small difference.

National League

The National League was the second-highest level of dodgeball in the UK. Teams from this league could move up to the Premier League each year.

The first season in 2010/11 divided teams into four regional groups. Teams were ranked based on how well they did in tournaments. The best teams then played in play-offs. Bedford Bulls and Meteors earned promotion to the Premier League.

In the 2011/12 season, the league changed. It created an eight-team Division 1. It also set up a Division 2, which had regional groups for university and club teams. Reepham Raiders won Division 1, and Imperial Wolverines also moved up.

University and Women's Leagues

Besides the main leagues, there were also special leagues for university teams. There was a University Premier League and a University League 1, split into North and South regions.

In 2013, the Women's Premier League was created. This was a top league just for women's teams. Six of the highest-ranked women's teams competed. Bedford Mighty Eagles won the first title in this league.

There were also local leagues, like the Leicester League. And for fun, there was a Social & Fun League in London.

Women in Dodgeball

Dodgeball became very popular among women in the UK. In just two years, 12 new women's teams were formed. The sport grew a lot in universities across the United Kingdom.
