The University of Biobío (its name in Spanish is Universidad del Biobío) is a public university in Chile. It is one of Chile's traditional universities.

This university has a long history. It started from the Technical University of the State (TUS) on April 9, 1947. It also grew from the Ñuble Campus of the University of Chile. Later, parts of these schools came together to form what is now known as UBB.

The university has campuses in two cities: Concepción and Chillán. It offers many different study programs. More than 12,000 students attend UBB. Also, nearly 70% of its teachers have advanced degrees like master's or PhDs.

What Can You Study?

The University of Biobío has six main areas of study, called faculties. Each faculty focuses on different subjects.

Architecture, Construction, and Design

This faculty teaches about designing buildings and cities. Students learn about construction, visual communication, and industrial design. They also study how to use wood in building. They work on new building materials and how to protect old buildings.
