Urassaya Sperbund (Thai: อุรัสยา เสปอร์บันด์), born on March 18, 1993, is a very popular Thai actress and model. People often call her Yaya (Thai: ญาญ่า). She has won many important awards for her acting. These include two Suphannahong National Film Awards, a Maya Award, and several TV and entertainment awards.
Urassaya started her acting journey in 2008 with a comedy TV show called Peun See Long Hon. She became even more famous for her main roles in popular TV dramas. Some of these include Duang Jai Akkanee (2010), Game Rai Game Rak (2011), and Khluen Chiwit (2017).
She has also starred in successful movies. These include Brother of the Year and Nakee 2 (2018). For her roles in Brother of the Year and Fast And Feel Love, she won the top Suphannahong National Film Award for Best Actress.

Early Life
Urassaya Sperbund was born on March 18, 1993, in Thailand. She has family roots from both Norway and Thailand. This means she is part Norwegian and part Thai.
She is very good at languages. Urassaya speaks Thai, English, and Norwegian fluently. She also knows some French and Spanish, but she is not completely fluent in those languages.
For her early schooling, Urassaya went to Regents International School Pattaya. Later, she moved to Bangkok Patana School. She then studied at Chulalongkorn University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2015.
Acting Career
Early Career and Big Success
Urassaya first appeared on TV in 2008. She had a role in a Channel 3 comedy show called Peun See Long Hon. In 2010, she acted in Kularb Rai Narm. That same year, she starred in Duang Jai Akkanee. This drama was very popular in Thailand. It helped her win awards like the Top Awards and Siamdara Stars Awards for Best Rising Star.
In 2011, Urassaya got a main role in Tawan Dueat. She was nominated for Best Actress at the 3rd Nataraja Award for this role. After Tawan Dueat, she became even more successful. She starred with Nadech Kugimiya in Game Rai Game Rak (2011). This role earned her a TV Gold Award nomination. Urassaya also used her voice for an animated show called Superhero Lo Chuai Dai in 2012.
Later in 2012, she played Darunee in Torranee Ni Nee Krai Krong. In 2013, she starred as Mattana in the Channel 3 series Sam Thahan Suea Sao (Maya Tawan). She then took on another romantic role in Nueng Nai Suang (2015).
Continued Success
After a short break, Urassaya returned to TV in 2017. She worked with Prin Suparat again in Khluen Chiwit. This was a romantic drama. She won Best Actress at the 32nd TV Gold Awards for her acting in this show.
In 2018, Urassaya appeared in two movies. The first was the romantic-comedy Brother of the Year. She starred alongside Sunny Suwanmethanont and Nichkhun. The movie was a big hit, and her acting was highly praised. She won her first Suphannahong National Film Awards for this role.
Her next movie was the fantasy thriller Nakee 2. She acted with Natapohn Tameeruks and Nadech Kugimiya. Even with mixed reviews, the movie made a lot of money. It became one of the highest-grossing films in Thailand. Also in 2018, she played Princess Alice in the TV show The Crown Princess. In February 2018, Urassaya became the first Thai actress to be a "Friend of Louis Vuitton". She was also the first Thai celebrity to be featured in Vogue magazine.
Urassaya then took the main role in the drama Klin Kasalong (2019). She won many awards for her performance in this series. In 2022, she starred in the comedy movie Fast and Feel Love. Critics loved her acting in this film, calling it one of her best performances. That same year, she was in the Netflix series Thai Cave Rescue. This show tells the true story of the 2018 Tham Luang cave rescue in Thailand.
Personal Life
Urassaya met Thai actor Nadech Kugimiya when they were filming Duang Jai Akkanee in 2010. Their relationship was often talked about in the news. However, they kept their relationship private for a long time.
In an interview in November 2022, Urassaya shared more about their relationship. She said they never officially asked each other to be boyfriend and girlfriend. Instead, they just knew they were together. She believes their relationship officially started during the filming of Torranee Ni Nee Krai Krong. Urassaya and Nadech got engaged in June 2023.
