Urszula Wybraniec-Skardowska (born in 1940) is a smart Polish scientist who studies logic. Logic is all about how we think and reason correctly. She has looked into interesting ideas like "rough sets," which help us deal with information that isn't perfectly clear. She also studied rules for figuring out when certain ideas or statements are not true.

Her Journey in Learning and Work

Urszula Wybraniec-Skardowska was born in a town called Jastrzębie-Zdrój in 1940. She loved learning and went to the University of Wrocław. In 1963, she earned her master's degree in mathematics. She continued her studies there and got her Ph.D. in mathematics in 1967. Later, in 1985, she completed a special advanced degree called a "habilitation" in humanistic sciences. This degree is like a very high-level research qualification that allows someone to become a full professor.

She became a professor in 1992. For many years, she worked at the University of Opole, where she was a full professor from 1995 to 2005. After she retired from the University of Opole, she continued to share her knowledge. From 2005 to 2010, she led the department of logic and how we study science at WSB Merito University in Chorzów. She also worked at Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw.

Urszula Wybraniec-Skardowska has written important books that share her ideas with others. One of her books is called Theory of Language Syntax: Categorial Approach, which was published in 1991. She also helped to edit a book called The Lvov–Warsaw School: Past and Present in 2018. This book is about a famous group of Polish thinkers. Besides these, she has written several other books in Polish.
