Uzkiano is a small village located in the Urkabustaiz area. It is part of the Álava province in the Basque Country, a special region in Spain. In 2012, only 23 people lived there.
Where Uzkiano Is Located
Uzkiano is found in the Zuia region. It sits in a valley, which is a low area between hills, next to the Altube river. The Altube river flows into the larger Nervion river.
Other villages close to Uzkiano include Oiardo, Unzá-Apreguindana, Gujuli, and Izarra.
Sports and Local Games
One of the most famous sports in Uzkiano is 'Bolo alaves'. This is a special type of bowling game played only in the province of Álava.
The local team from Uzkiano has been very successful. They won the 'Torneo Urkabustaiz' four times in a row, from 2005 to 2008. They won this competition again between 2011 and 2013. In recent years, the team has also reached the finals in many other competitions across the province.
