Michael Allen (born January 19, 1976 – died April 20, 2008) was an American rapper. He was widely known by his stage name, VL Mike. He came from New Orleans, Louisiana.
His Music Journey
VL Mike first became known in the music world in 2004. He joined a record label called Chopper City Records, which was based in New Orleans. The famous rapper B.G. was the head of this label.
VL Mike was known for his unique rap style. He often told stories about life in New Orleans through his lyrics. In 2007, he was part of the group Chopper City Boyz. They released their first album, We Got This.
After this album, VL Mike decided to leave Chopper City Records. He wanted to start his own solo music career. He shared on his Place Yo Betz mixtape that he wanted to make his own path in music. VL Mike also mentioned in an interview that he had a deal with Sony/Epic Records. His first solo album, It's Only One Me, was planned for release in April.
His Passing
Michael Allen passed away on April 20, 2008, in New Orleans.
