Valentina was born on May 10, 1963. She competed in the discus throw at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia, in the United States. At these Olympic Games, she finished in 24th place with a throw of 58.38 meters.

Valentina set her personal best record in the discus throw on January 27, 2001. She threw the discus an amazing 65.12 meters in Pietersburg, which is in South Africa. This was her longest throw ever in a competition!
