Valeria Martínez Zaragoza (born August 8, 1985, in Valencia, Spain), known as Valeria Vegas, is a Spanish writer and journalist. She also works as a documentary filmmaker and producer.

Valeria Vegas's Journey as a Writer
Valeria Vegas studied journalism in Valencia and earned a degree in Audiovisual Communication. In 2015, she moved to Madrid.
Her first book, Grandes actrices del cine español, was published in 2015. That same year, she also released a biography about a famous personality, La Veneno. This book, titled ¡Digo! ... Las memorias de La Veneno, later became the inspiration for the TV series Veneno. This series was shown on Atresmedia in Spain and later on HBO in the United States.
Since 2015, Valeria has worked as a journalist for many magazines and websites. These include Vanity Fair Spain, Shangay, Lecturas, and Jot Down. In 2019, she published another book, Vestidas de azul. Análisis social y cinematográfico de la mujer transexual en los años de la Transición española. This book looked at how transgender women were shown in movies during a special time in Spanish history.
Valeria has also been a speaker at various events. In 2017, she participated in "El Congreso del Bienestar," where she talked about love. She also joined a discussion about "Trash Culture" in Malaga and took part in an exhibition called "Fotonovela."
In 2019, she attended a political and social convention in La Palma. There, she showed her documentary film, Manolita, la chen de Arcos. Valeria directed this film in 2016, and it won an award for Best Spanish Documentary at "LesGaiCineMad 2016." She also showed this film at a festival in Sevilla in 2018. Since 2018, she has written for "La Otra Crónica" (LOC), a news section of the newspaper El Mundo.

Valeria Vegas in TV and Radio
In March 2019, Valeria started working on the TV show Un año de tu vida on Canal Sur. On this show, famous people are interviewed. Since 2016, she also contributed to El legado de ... on Canal Sur. Here, she talked about famous artists like Rocío Dúrcal and Manolo Escobar.
She also worked on a project called 40 años de El País en el cine. Currently, she contributes to Yasss, a program by Mediaset. From September 2019 to June 2019, she was part of the radio team for Aquí estamos on Canal Sur Radio. Since September 2019, she has directed her own radio show, El Reservado de Valeria. In January 2020, she joined the radio program A Vivir Madrid on Cadena SER.
In December 2019, Atresmedia began filming the TV series Veneno. This series is based on Valeria's book about Cristina Ortiz. Valeria was part of the production team for the series. In the show, Valeria Vegas is played by the actress Lola Rodríguez.
In 2020, Valeria was a judge for the Zinegoak film festival in Bilbao, Spain. This festival focuses on LGBT-themed films.
