A Bit of History
Valley was first mapped out, or platted, in the year 1810. This means its streets and lots were planned on paper. The people who settled here chose the name "Valley" because the community is located in a valley formed by a creek.
For many years, Valley had its own post office. It opened in 1868. This post office helped people send and receive letters and packages. However, it closed down in 1901.
