Valley City is a small, unincorporated community located in Washington Township, within Harrison County, Indiana. An unincorporated community means it's a place with a name but doesn't have its own local government like a city or town does.
History of Valley City
Valley City was officially planned and marked out on a map in 1859. It got its name because it sits in a valley, which is a low area of land between hills. A post office opened here in 1863. This post office helped people send and receive mail for many years. However, it closed down in 1911.
Where is Valley City?
Valley City is located in a pretty spot near the beginning of Blue Spring Hollow. You can find it east of a town called New Amsterdam. It is also north of another town named Mauckport.
